Picked up Chick-fil-A today and the employee hands me this shiny gold cup like I just won something.
Apparently it’s their “Golden Fan Cup” promotion, so instead of a regular drink cup they slide this metallic looking tumbler across the counter with a little card saying I “scored” it. Everyone behind the counter is smiling like they just handed me something valuable, and I’m just standing there holding a gold plastic cup with a slogan on it.
I looked at it in the car and it’s basically the same as a normal cup, just gold and covered in “Taste It. You’ll LOVE It For GOOD.” like I’m supposed to feel special drinking out of it. Meanwhile I still paid full price for the food sitting right next to me.
The employee kept saying how lucky I was to get one like it was some rare reward. I just nodded, grabbed my bag, and left because at the end of the day I came for lunch, not a souvenir.
If this is what they consider a fan reward, then I guess congrats to me for owning a shiny plastic cup. I just wanted the nuggets.
