I got home after a long day just wanting to walk in, unlock the door, and sit down for a few minutes. Instead I put my key in the lock and it instantly snapped in half like it was made of paper.
Now I’m standing on my own porch holding half a key while the other half is stuck inside the lock like it belongs there. I tried pulling it out, shaking the key, even staring at it like somehow that would fix things.
The door is still locked, I’m stuck outside my own house, and the only thing I actually accomplished was breaking the one thing meant to get me inside.
Now I’m just sitting here wondering how a key that worked perfectly for years suddenly chose today to give up in the worst way possible
