I pulled into Target just trying to run in for five minutes, and of course the parking lot is packed. The only spots near the entrance were the electric vehicle charging spots sitting completely empty, so I figured if no one’s using them, what’s the big deal for a quick stop?
I backed my truck in, grabbed my wallet, and before I even got out, some guy walking by with groceries just stared at my truck like I’d done something outrageous. He pointed at the “EV ONLY” sign like I somehow missed it, even though it was right there.
I told him if someone with an electric car actually shows up, they can wait the few minutes I’m inside. The charger isn’t doing anything while the spot sits empty anyway.
Now he’s shaking his head like I’m the worst person in the world for using an empty spot, while I’m just trying to grab toothpaste and get out. If those spots are going to sit unused half the time, maybe they shouldn’t be the closest ones to the entrance.
