I pulled into Target for a quick five minute stop and ended up parking in the striped handicap area because the lot was packed and I’m driving a big truck. Those spots are usually empty when I’m here, so I figured it wouldn’t be a big deal for a short time, especially since I left space and just ran inside.
When I came back out, there was a guy with his kids just standing there staring at my truck like something serious had happened. He even pushed a cart near my bumper, and they all looked at me like I had done something wrong. I told him I don’t see the issue if the spot isn’t being used and I’m only there briefly.
He said it’s not something I get to decide, and I just laughed it off. To me, if the spot is empty and I’m in and out quickly, it doesn’t seem like a big deal.
In the end, I backed out and left while they were still watching, but the whole situation felt a bit over the top for what was essentially just a quick stop in an empty space
