My little brother just got his first job and apparently that means he thinks he owns the entire fridge now.
He came home from the store all proud because he “bought his own groceries with his hard-earned money.” Which, fine, good for him. But then I open the fridge and see he’s literally written a whole warning label on a gallon of milk like it’s some kind of government property.
It says “PRIVATE RESERVE. COST: $12. DO NOT CONSUME. I CAN AND WILL COUNT THE GRAMS REMAINING. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.”
Like… it’s milk. In a shared fridge. In a house that he doesn’t even pay bills in.
So obviously I poured myself a glass immediately. Not even because I wanted milk that bad, but because the note annoyed me that much. Then I poured another one just to make sure he’d notice.
When he saw the bottle later he started freaking out saying I “violated his boundary” and that he paid for it with his own money. I told him if he wants complete control over his groceries he’s welcome to move out and buy his own fridge.
Apparently now I’m the bad guy for not respecting the warning label he wrote on a milk jug like he’s running some kind of dairy security system.
