I walked into Wendy’s to pick up an order and noticed a sign sitting right on the counter, big and bold, saying delivery drivers could get free drinks. I had to read it twice because it sounded too simple. A free medium fountain drink just for doing a pickup? No fine print, just ask for a cup.

So I went up and asked, and they handed me one without hesitation. No questions, no pushback. Then I looked at the sign again and realized it didn’t mention any kind of limit. That’s when the idea hit me. A few minutes later, I went back up and asked again, and just like before, they gave me another one.

After that, I started taking advantage of it. Every time I had a few minutes between orders, I’d go back and grab another cup. Before long, I had a small stack going on the side counter. People started noticing and asking what I was doing, so I began offering them for a lower price right there. They were saving money, I was making some, and the staff kept handing out cups like it was nothing.

By the end, I added it all up and made around $800 just from those “free” drinks. If that’s a problem, they probably should’ve been clearer with the sign. I didn’t bend any rules, I just used what was right in front of me and ran with it.
