Man… I told my 12-year-old if he wanted to go see his mom today, all he had to do was clean his room. Simple. A quick little 10-minute job.
Next thing I know, this kid is in there acting like he’s in a wrestling match — throwing trash into the hallway, swinging at the walls like they personally offended him. I’m just standing there like, “What exactly is this supposed to accomplish?”
I get that the divorce has been hard on him, I really do. But you can’t lose it every time you don’t like a rule. He’s already upset that I’ve got custody and actually keep some structure in the house instead of letting him run wild.
Honestly… I’m trying my best, but his temper is through the roof and even therapy hasn’t helped much yet. Some days it just feels like a lot for one parent to handle.
